One day a Demon came in a state. He had been killing the people of the state day after day. Being helpless, the king sent his messenger to the Demon. On his return from the Demon, the messenger informed the king that the demon had demanded a person for every day to appease his hunger. Upon hearing this,
the king issued an order that one person from each family had to go to the Demon. One day, it was the turn of a poor family. Unfortunately, nobody agreed to go to the demon; so, the family requested the younger member of the family to go. The young obeyed their order. But before his going he smiled twice and later tear rolled on from his check. The reason of his first time smiling was though his parents were old, they longed to live more even at the cost of their son’s life.
His smiling for the
second time was that they were living in such a state where instead of
protecting the people, the protector had caused a serious threat to the life of
his subjects. Now he cried thinking that he would go to leave his beautiful
motherland; but this nonsense would live after his death.
এক দিন এক রাজ্যে এক রাক্ষস
এলো ! সে রাজ্যের অধিবাসীদের দিন দিন হত্যা করতে লাগল ! রাজা বিপন্ন হযে তার কাছে দূত
পাঠালেন ! দূত ফিরে এসে জানাল যে রাক্ষস প্রতি দিন একটি করে মানুষ খেতে চায় ! রাজা
ঘোষণা করলেন প্রতি পরিবার থেকে একজন সদস্য কে রাক্ষসের কাছে যেতেই হবে ! সেই মত একদিন
এক কৃষক পরিবারের পালা এলো ! পরিবারের কেউ রাজি হল না ! তারা পরিবারের সবচেয়ে কম বয়সী
যুবক ছেলেটিকে যেতে অনুরোধ করল ! যুবক রাজি হল ! যাবার আগে দুবার হাসল ,আর শেষে কেঁদে
উঠল !

!
History is not just a subject which
delineates the ancient stories of kings and queens. But transcending that
trivial depiction it teaches us how the mankind has been continuing it's combat
pursuing the struggle to sustain it's survival. Present events are not analyzed
righteously without acquiring knowledge from the history. To study history will
be fecund only when it will be possible to deduce future analyzing the present
by the help of past. To perceive the past events is not enough but to know the
root causes of those events is necessary. Only then, we will be able to attain
knowledge from the history. Continuous evolution of human civilization is
engraved in the pages of history evidently. To study history would be much more
enchanting by the way of changing perspective.

History is not just a past-story about the
Kings and their Kingdoms only.. History teaches us how a human race has been
struggling to protect their existence. The present events can't be explained
properly without knowing the past history. The study of history will be
fruitful when the present is judged by the past to have a concept of future. It
is not enough to know what happened in the past, why it was happened it is
rather required to know. Only then it will be learned from history. The
continuous evaluation of human society is clearly written in the pages of
history. The study if history can become more enjoyable by changing the
perspective.
